Housing Continuum, Inc.

Making affordable housing a reality.

Housing Continuum works to make local housing more affordable for low and very low-income households in our community.

Who we are

A sister organization to Community Contacts

Housing Continuum, Inc. (HCI) was established by Community Contacts, Inc. in 1997 as a separate 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation. HCI is a Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO).

HCI has its own board of directors, and one-third of the board are representatives of the people we serve.

Why it matters

Affordable housing is hard to find in our area

Compared with other parts of Illinois, our two-county service area is not considered economically disadvantaged. That makes affordable housing especially hard to find for low and very low-income families here.

Housing affordability is the main focus of Housing Continuum’s programs and services.

To make local housing more affordable for low and very low-income households.

Our Mission

Our programs

How Housing Continuum helps

Three-, four- and five-bedroom single-family homes for rent in South Elgin, St. Charles, Geneva, Batavia and North Aurora, with the goal that rent is no more than 30% of household income.

Affordable Rental Program

Our purchase, rehab, and resale program is here for new homeowners seeking affordable housing. Our agency purchases homes that need rehabilitation, performs that rehabilitation, and sells properties to families who need it most.
