Established in 1978, Community Contacts, Inc. is a private, not for profit service organization helping elderly, economically disadvantaged, and persons with disabilities through programs that focus on housing affordability and that assist with housing rehabilitation, domestic energy payments, weatherization of homes and energy conservation. Community Contacts, Inc.’s policy is that all persons are entitled to equal opportunity for service without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, veteran status, disability, age or sex.
History
Begun as Senior Planning and Services in 1974 by the Aurora Area United Way, the organization moved to the Tri-Cities in 1978 to provide service to Kane, DeKalb and DuPage counties. In 1981, the name was changed to Community Contacts, Inc. and its scope expanded to home medical help with the management of the Visiting Nurse Association through 1983. CCI diversified into the area of housing, winning contracts for the Home Energy Assistance Program and Home Weatherization Program both funded by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO). Since 1981, the agency has built its capacity and expertise in the domestic housing arena administering a range of housing rehabilitation grants. Its programs now fall into the following categories:

- Home Weatherization.
- Housing Rehabilitation.
- Affordable Rentals.
- Purchase Resale Program
