Housing Rehabilitation Program
The Housing Rehabilitation Program provides grants and low interest loans for rehab projects to make homes safer, more comfortable, and compliant with local housing standards.
Community Contacts, Inc. began its first single-family owner-occupied rehab program in 1995. Since then, we have rehabilitated over 1,000 homes. Funding is from the Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA), Kane County, and other local and state agencies.
Community Contacts, Inc. will:

- Inspect the property
- Write the work order
- Bid the jobs
- Supervise the contractors
- Inspect the job sites
- Handle the paperwork

Eligibility
Homeowners in Kane County (excluding Aurora) who meet income and home value qualifications may be eligible for a no-interest, deferred loan for the rehab work. In addition, grants are available to address lead-based hazards in homes. Up to $30,000 is generally available for homes.

If you live in Kane County (excluding Aurora) and your household falls into the income brackets listed above, you are encouraged to complete the Housing Rehabilitation Interest Form and a member of our staff will be in touch.
